Local Only. These heritage breed hogs have been pasture raised on grass and supplemented with a non-GMO feed and fresh organic produce. Heritage means that the meat is a true red, not the “other white meat” as it has been marketed to be.
Once reserved, each hog is processed fresh. These hogs are estimated to be ready around the end of October 2023. By paying you are reserving a half pastured hog with your deposit.
These hogs can weigh anywhere from 400-500 pounds before slaughter and are priced at $8.00 per pound hanging weight. This is the weight of the animal after it has been dispatched and cleaned. Once your hog has been taken to the butcher and weighed an invoice will be sent to you with the remaining balance which must be paid immediately upon receipt. Failure to pay this invoice within 3 calendar days of being notified, forfeits deposit.
Once the hogs are taken to the processor you will be able to custom order your cuts. The costs for processing and the custom order is a separate charge that is paid directly to the butcher. We will provide you with their information after your remaining balance is paid in full.
The processor that we use is about an hour and a half drive from the Wiregrass area. You may choose to pick up your order or have us pick it up and deliver to your home for an additional charge of $50.00. You will find this as one of the options to choose from.
