These girls have reached their prime after happily foraging and grazing for their food. They should be cooked low and slow for a number of hours to break down their muscles. In our opinion a crockpot is best to tenderize the meat, but it is also great added to a stew, soup, or even for chicken and dumplings. These birds will be leaner than our other chickens due to their longer life cycle, diet, and exercise, but when cooked properly very tasty!
